BIO
"Vocals occasionally stray from Trent Reznor-ish contortions to actual singing."
The man behind splinter's mask is front-man vocalist/guitarist George Smith. Smith wrote and recorded fragments of the splinter in 1997, followed by sew it shut in 1999.  The band has spent the past 9 years touring up and down the eastern half of the US, gaining fans and admiration with their razor-cutting songs and intensely dark lyrics.
"This industrial group's moody dirges bring down tears from the heavens. sonatas of sorrow bleeding with an esoteric ache for all the broken hearts to hear. the beauty of their music lies in the dream they create between the void of despair and whispers of redemption."

After self-producing their first two releases, the band entered the studio in 2001 with producer/engineer Alan Yates (Collective Soul) to begin work on what would become their most elaborate effort to date. Recording at Atlanta's Songbird Studios and removed from the distractions of their Philadelphia home, the band turned out the ten songs that would become their latest album, The Emptying.

"Splinter is a band with the deepest of moods swirling in Industrial Throttle and Acoustic Dreaminess. Lyrics that cut deep into your heart and music swirling into your soul. Backed by thousands of fans across the country, Gothic crowds and the non-gothic have a love for this band which can be described only by their utter devotion to their soul capturing sound."

"It's going to hit you like a thunderstorm. Great lyrics, amazing voice... excellent music. What more do you need?"

"Amazing Cd... George has a gift of mixing interesting aspects to create a thoughtful, floating sound. This one takes you on an emotional journey! Love it!"

"So many great tunes on one CD. Well worth buying, it's one you'll not get tired of listening to. The tunes keep getting better the longer they play and record."
